Classic car dealer Talacrest has been given a Queen’s Award for International Trade success.
The Ascot-based dealer is one of just 150 companies bestowed with this honour in 2016. Talacrest specialises in selling the rarest and most valuable classic cars both at home throughout the UK and internationally. In particular, the company is the world’s leading specialist in selling classic Ferraris, and has sold some truly remarkable cars ranging from the earliest 1950s road and race models to the latest models.
Talacrest won the Queen’s Award for International Trade for continuous growth in overseas earnings, which have grown from £433,000 in 2010 to £59.3 million in the year to March 2015, representing just over 41% of the business’s total annual earnings.
Commenting on the honour, chairman John Collins said: “I am very proud to receive this honour on behalf of the team at Talacrest. Our international customers represent a significant proportion of our business, and we have sold many cars to overseas clients often without them even visiting our showrooms.
“Hopefully this award should re-affirm to customers old and new that our position as the leading and most trusted brand in the Classic Ferrari market worldwide is unparalleled. The UK is the centre of the world classic car market and it’s fantastic to gain official recognition for our endeavours; especially as we believe we are the only classic car dealer to have won the award to date.
“We’ll hopefully have some exciting news to announce later on this year concerning our overseas trading activities, and although many of our more significant transactions take place outside the public domain for reasons of client confidentiality, it’s great for us to able to fly the flag and promote our success.”
