Vauxhall has reduced the CO2 output and boosted fuel consumption on several models in it’s Insignia range. Tweaks made to the engine management system on the Insignia’s 2.0-litre Turbo engine have given an almost 5% drop in emissions on the Estate/Sports Tourer. This means CO2 is now 129g/km (Under 130g/km means no VED to pay for the first year) and fuel consumption of up to 57.6mpg.

The Sports Tourer ecoFLEX has also been improoved with a drop in C02 to 134g/km and fuel consumption of 55.4mpg, up from 53.3mpg. Power remains at 160PS, with torque of 350Nm available from 1750-2500rpm.

The 2.0 CDTi 160PS model now has C02emissions of 144g/km (down from 154g/km), delivering 6.5 per cent lower fuel consumption and a 2 per cent drop in BIK tax for company car drivers to 20% for both the Hatch and Saloon variants.

The 130PS version of the 2.0 CCDTi, gains a new turbocharger, reducing C02emissions by 11.5% to 136g/km.

Vauxhall claim the engine tweaks which include a stiffer fixing between the injection pump and engine, noise-absorbing foam shields and scissor gears to the cam-drive also reduce noise and vibrations in both 130PS and 160PS units. Despite the enhancements to economy and refinement, prices remain unchanged.
