Jennings Kia has expanded its after sales team with the appointment of a new motor vehicle technician. Carl Toplis, 31, from Durham, is the latest recruit to join the Parsons Road, Washington service department.

Carl’s appointment brings a fourth technician to the team with responsibility for carrying out service and MOTs on customers’ cars. For Carl the appointment marks a return to the motor trade after the 10 years he has spent working in retail sales.  Prior to that, Carl had completed his apprenticeship as a motor vehicle technician and gained a years experience in the trade.

Carl said; “Although I have gained experience and knowledge in sales, working with cars is my forte and I am delighted to have been given this excellent opportunity and to be working in the motor industry once again.”

Carl will now move on to complete a number of training courses at Kia’s Nottingham-based training centre, which lead to him becoming a fully approved Kia motor vehicle technician.

June Appleyard, service manager at Jennings Kia in Washington, said; “We are delighted to welcome Carl on board.  His recent appointment is part of an on-going recruitment drive in order to cater for the demand in customers needing service and MOTs carried out on their vehicles.”
