Data from Warranty Solutions Group (WSG) has found that its Prep4Less scheme saves the average dealership £2,107 per month.

The scheme allows independent dealerships to source parts at a reduced cost, with WSG negotiating exclusive deals with more than 20 parts distributors, including AVG Windscreens and Euro Car Parts.

The biggest saving seen so far this year was for a BMW X5 engine, which a main dealer priced at £13,073 – Prep4Less sourced an engine for £5,342.

Other savings included an instrument cluster for a Volkswagen Golf Hybrid, which cost £321 from Prep4Less, instead of £1,950 from a main dealer.

A header unit for a Volkswagen Golf was also significantly cheaper, costing around 5% of main dealer RRP, at £80, instead of £1,650.

Darren Smith, head of Prep4Less at Warranty Solutions Group, said: “Prep4Less was created to directly address two of the most pressing challenges facing dealerships today: rising costs of pre-sale vehicle preparation and the often unpredictable, high-cost nature of post-sale repairs.

“But beyond the numbers, Prep4Less gives smaller and mid-sized dealers the power to compete on price, on efficiency, and on customer satisfaction.

“What sets Prep4Less apart is its simplicity. Dealers simply tell us what they need, and we handle the rest, connecting them with the right suppliers via a single point of contact.”

Smith added: “It cuts admin, reduces sourcing time by up to 20%, and frees up dealers to focus on what they do best: selling vehicles and delivering excellent service.

“As the retail landscape evolves, Prep4Less offers dealers a way to future-proof their businesses.

“It levels the playing field with car supermarkets and online platforms by delivering the kind of group-buying power and supplier access that only the largest players typically enjoy.”
