Warranty Solutions Group (WSG) has launched a warranty programme for modified Porsches, in a partnership with Genome Design, a tuning specialist.

Genome Design provides manufacturer-approved tuning packages high-end cars, including engine control unit (ECU) and transmission control unit (TCU) remapping, providing increased performance.

WSG will now offer specialised warranty coverage for Genome Design customers, helping legitimise modified cars.

Steph Newbery, group director at WSG, said: “We’re thrilled to partner with Genome Design, a true leader in the modern vehicle modification movement.

“Our aim is to create warranty solutions that reflect today’s reality: the Automotive & Performance aftermarket sector can be professional, safe, and performance-enhancing.

“For too long, modified vehicles have been excluded from warranty policies. But with specialists like Genome setting a new standard for quality and craftsmanship, that narrative is changing.

“We’re proud to be part of that shift.”

The UK aftermarket sector is expected to be worth nearly £14bn by 2030, with demand for personalisation increasing.

Newbery said: “Consumers now expect both aesthetic individuality and functional upgrades and the market is adapting.

“The rise of EVs, online modding communities, and sustainable custom parts is shaping an exciting new frontier for personalisation.

“Warranty provision must evolve too and that’s exactly what this partnership represents.”

Genome Design, based in West Yorkshire, will now be able to provide increased assurance to customers, backing up its precision-engineered modifications with peace of mind from a warranty.

Nick Cook, director of Genome Design, said: “We are seeing a new generation of drivers who value experience and engineering.

“For them, a car isn’t just a mode of transport – it’s a platform for storytelling, creativity, and technological expression.

“Whether it’s integrating smart tech, enhancing sustainability with lightweight components, or creating immersive driving environments, customisation is now a lifestyle choice.

“That’s why collaborations like ours with WSG matter – they help legitimise this space and offer enthusiasts the assurance they need to innovate boldly.”
