Fix Auto UK has continued its expansion along Britain’s South Coast with the addition of a new site in Plymouth, as LA Bodyworks officially joins the network under the new name Fix Auto North Plymouth.

The move marked a significant milestone for founder Leon Hall, who launched LA Bodyworks in 2013 with a £4,000 personal loan.

The business has since developed into a 9,000 sq ft repair centre with 20 work bays, additional secure parking, and a separate unit dedicated to advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS).

Now operating as Fix Auto North Plymouth, the site becomes the latest in a string of strategic additions for Fix Auto UK, which now has 14 fully branded repair centres spanning the south coast — from Fix Auto Lydd in Kent to Fix Auto Penzance in Cornwall.

Hall said: “I am extremely proud of what I’ve achieved. From that £4,000 loan and operating out of a single unit big enough to repair just one car at a time, I’ve managed to grow and develop into what we have today.

“But I am ambitious and know there’s still a lot more to come from the business and I recognised I need that help and guidance to fulfil those ambitions.

“Fix Auto UK has a hugely successful CV of helping repairers to take their businesses to that next level and I want to be part of that success.”

The site is situated on the northern outskirts of Plymouth, close to the city’s main arterial roads. Hall runs the operation with a close-knit team of eight, including his brother, father and a lifelong friend.

The workshop is currently handling around 20 vehicles a week, with capacity to scale up further under the Fix Auto UK banner.

Mark Hutchins, operations director at Fix Auto UK, said: “We’re absolutely delighted to welcome Leon and the entire Fix Auto North Plymouth team to the network.

“Leon’s journey from launching his business with a modest personal loan to building a highly respected and thriving repair centre is truly inspiring.

“His dedication to quality, continual investment in his facilities, and strong family values align perfectly with what Fix Auto UK stands for. We’re excited to support his continued growth.”

Fix Auto UK is part of a global network of more than 925 bodyshops, collectively handling over 150,000 body repairs a year across insurance, fleet, and retail sectors.
