The Hendy automotive group has confirmed major investment plans following a bumper year of trading.

The investments include new facilities in Gatwick, three brand new dealerships in Eastleigh, expanded Car Store operations in Exeter, and as previously reported in these pages, the launch of Hendy Performance, a brand new division in Hampshire.

Chief executive Paul Hendy  commented: “The last 12 months have been transformational for the group and we are now reaping the rewards of a customer and staff focused company which is committed to further growth in the future”.“Integrating the Lifestyle business [which was acquired in 2016] into Hendy has been exciting and everything has gone to plan.”

The group has just completed a newly enlarged Hendy Car Store in Devon. In Portsmouth Hendy plans to update its Kia and Honda dealerships, and launch a new FordStore. The group is also set to start work on three new dealerships in Eastleigh and plans to create Europe’s largest FordStore. Ford and Mazda sites will be added in Crawley, to complement their new Suzuki site.

Paul continued: “We have amazing teams of people working across the business and have seen record results in all areas of the company from new and used car sales, aftersales, commercial vehicle operations and our power product and marine divisions.”

Paul concluded: “The engagement of staff and customers cannot be underestimated and we see the next 12 months as another exciting chapter in the Hendy story.”
