Swansway Chester has appointed Gary Sayers, 30, to the role of Sales Manager, at the multi-brand centre, on Bumpers Lane.
The move marks a promotion for Gary who was previously a Sales Executive at the site. He has maintained a loyalty to Swansway, having also worked in a Sales Executive role at the group’s nearby Peugeot Chester site.
The loyalty runs considerably deeper however, as Gary became engaged to Danielle Hancocks, Dealership Accountant for both Swansway Chester sites, the couple now have a beautiful baby boy, Luca, who is now 9 months old and will marry in 2018.
A delighted Gary commented on his new appointment: “I started out as a valeter, progressing to Area Manager, which was when I met Andrew Wakelin, Swansway Chester Operations Director and he offered me a role at Swansway Peugeot as a Sales Executive and I’ve never looked back”!
“I worked at both the Swansway sites in Chester but really found my niche with the FIAT group brands which cover not just FIAT, but Abarth, Jeep and Alfa Romeo. From the very first time I met Andrew Wakelin I was impressed by his absolute passion for the business, then I met the Smyth family who own and run Swansway and realised that there were equally passionate and really believed in their family values”.
With a note of humour Gary adds: “Swansway has literally made my life complete. My ambition is to learn everything I can about all the departments that make up a dealership, to help me in achieving my long-term goal of becoming a General Manager”.
