The BVRLA has announced details of its first ever Fleet Technology Congress.

The event is taking place at the Heritage Motor Centre in Gaydon on July 1 and the BVRLA expects more than 150 senior fleet industry executives to attend.

The congress will explore the latest trends in connected vehicles, telematics, ‘Big Data’ and intelligent mobility services. The agenda will feature expert speakers from the Automotive Council, Department for Transport, Frost & Sullivan, KPMG and Thatcham.

As well as providing a strategic overview of the key technology trends affecting the automotive and transport environment, the event will include an in-depth vehicle rental and leasing industry perspective on the exciting developments already shaping the way fleets are managed and operated.

Topics to be covered include how e-call and the latest wave of autonomous safety technology impact on fleets, as well as asking what is the potential for black-box based insurance. The way that telematics and smartphone apps are changing the way fleets are driven and managed will also be addressed, as well as looking at connected vehicles and the data they generate.
